From practicing in the fields of McClellanville, South Carolina, to performing with Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Sample and Frank Foster, H. Wade Johnson has emerged as one of the hottest jazz trumpeters on the East coast. The Be-Bop style of Dizzy, the technical artistry of Miles, and the smoothness of Wynton, H. Wade has combined these styles to introduce a new genre of Jazz music called FUNK-BOP: a mixture of soulful, dynamic bebop and the tempo of swing. In 2006, H. Wade recorded his first CD entitled “LIVE AT SABANG”. He now resides in Wilmington, Delaware
